ALTA Consulting is a boutique management consulting firm that helps companies engineer more revenue. ALTA specializes in working with small to mid size organizations that are looking to establish or grow sales and marketing teams.

Gord Smith

Co-founder

Gord is a seasoned sales and marketing executive in the professional services, high tech and software industries. He has led sales, marketing and product development experience at leading firms such as NCR, SAP, Seibel Systems Deloitte Consulting, Ideaca and Hitachi. Gord has worked with many start ups and fast-growing software and services firms to help them with profitable growth. He was a Partner at Ideaca that went from a startup to over 60 million in revenue and eventually sold to Hitachi. Gord holds a BBA from Wilfrid Laurier University and an MBA from the University of Windsor.

Janet Smith

Janet has a wealth of experience in marketing for small and mid sized businesses. She owned and operated Once Upon a Child retail stores for over 20 years with locations in Newmarket and Ajax. She successfully sold this business in 2015. She was an early adopter of social media and advanced digital marketing strategies to drive customer retention and new customer acquisition. Janet has worked extensively with websites, Facebook, email marketing and LinkedIn to generate more revenue. Prior to starting her own business, Janet led customer service teams at RBC and Groupmark Canada. Janet has a bachelor’s degree from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Dan McDonald

Director of Business Development

Dan is a sales professional with wide-ranging executive and functional sales experience and has held sales leadership positions at SAP, CGI, ACS Systech, and Xerox. He first worked as a financial systems sales representative, moving on to executive roles and running inside and outside sales teams. Dan’s sales experience ranges from start-ups to multinational organizations and includes executive sales consulting. Prior to his sales roles, Dan was a financial executive and held controllership roles in Domtar, Kendall, MacMillan Bathurst, and MacMillan Bloedel and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada.

Abhitej Singh

Marketing Consultant

Abhitej is experienced in multiple sales and marketing roles. His journey took off with a sales position at Axis Bank in India. To expand his knowledge of marketing and sales in a digitally driven world, he moved to a marketing agency called The AntiAlias. He devised effective digital marketing strategies at the agency for several E-commerce businesses, resulting in a 20% growth in the agency’s revenue. Because of his yearning for exposure to international markets, he moved to Canada where he graduated with an honours diploma in Marketing Management from Seneca College. He is now a member of the ALTA Consulting family where he contributes to the success of client projects with a fresh and creative approach.
