What is DMAP?
The Digital Modernization Adoption Plan (DMAP) is a pivotal part of the broader Digitalization Competence Centre initiative designed to empower Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) to navigate and excel in the digital landscape. DMAP provides SMEs with the essential tools and knowledge to develop a strategic digital modernization plan, ensuring your business survives and thrives in the digital age.

How It Works
Eligible SMEs will receive up to $15,000 in grants (upto 50% of total costs) to retain ALTA Consulting’s assessment and advisory services and offset the costs of creating a strategic roadmap for your transformation journey. It’s an investment towards future-proofing your business, where your ambition meets our support.
This is for your company if you are:
Scaling Resource and Project Management:
Difficulty in effectively allocating resources and managing a growing number of projects as the firm expands.
Adoption of Generative AI:
Uncertainty on how to integrate and leverage Generative AI technologies within existing business operations and offerings.
Data Security and Compliance:
Challenges in safeguarding sensitive client information against cyber threats and maintaining compliance with evolving regulations across jurisdictions.
Client Relationship and Engagement Management:
Struggles with maintaining high-quality, personalized client interactions and engagements as the client base expands.
Inefficient Knowledge Management:
Inefficiencies in capturing, organizing, and retrieving vast amounts of internal knowledge and data, leading to productivity loss.
Your business is eligible if it:
Is incorporated in Ontario, either federally or provincially.
Operates as a for-profit, privately owned entity.
Employs between 1 to 499 individuals.
Has generated a minimum of $500,000 in annual revenue in any of the past three fiscal years.
Cultivates a culture of growth, innovation, and readiness for change management.

Assessment Process

Project Activation
Upon signing the funding agreement, your project gets activated in the AccessOCI system, marking the beginning of your transformation journey.
Flow of Funds
DMAP operates on a reimbursement model. Submit your completed DMAP and associated documentation to claim the grant post-project completion.
*Note that expenses incurred before project activation are not covered.
Project Reporting
Keeping track of milestones and successes is crucial. A final report highlighting your achievements and financials is essential for fund disbursement.

How can I use the grant?Eligible costs are limited to those involved with creating your Digital Adoption Plan, including: Advisor fees, commissions, and charges associated with creating your Digital Adoption Plan Applicable federal and provincial sales taxes are associated with fees charged by the advisor.

Can ALTA Consulting submit my Grant application?We will guide you through the process of application and answer any questions you have. However, you must apply directly to the Grant, ALTA will help you to review your application and provide feedback to maximize your likelihood of success.

What types of costs are NOT covered by CDAP?Any activities not directly related to developing and producing a Digital Adoption Plan by the organizations registered on the Digital Advisor Marketplace. To consult the complete list of ineligible costs, click here.

How do I access funds?The Government of Canada will reimburse you for up to 90 percent of eligible expenses, up to $15,000. Once we complete your digital adoption plan, you will submit a copy of the plan along with the relevant invoices to receive your grant payment.

I want to know more about the BDC zero-interest loan:You're eligible if you have completed a Digital Adoption Plan as part of CDAP and have received your grant OR under another recognized Digital Adoption program and submitted it to CDAP If you're ready to move forward on your digital adoption plan but you don’t have the necessary cash flow, BDC can help with a 0% interest loan of up to $100,000. How do I apply for the BDC loan?The loan is only available upon completion of an approved digital adoption plan, which means that you need to have your Digital Adoption Plan (Follow the CDAP process), Once your plan is approved, use the personalized link in your email to apply for a loan of up to $100,0001.

What is the loan amount I can apply for?The amount of the loan is determined by the size of your business. If your annual gross revenues are: Business revenues of $500,000 to $5 million: loans between $25,000 and $50,000 Business revenues over $5 million: loans between $25,000 and $100,000

What are the loan terms?The loan has a 5-year term with a 12-month capital postponement (a total of 6 years). There are no fees. You have 1 year from the completion of your approved plan to make a loan request. You must meet BDC credit worthiness requirements. The loan must be used solely to implement a Digital Adoption Plan recognized by the CDAP Boost Your Business Technology stream.
